Youth Programs

For all youth recreational leagues and programs, emphasis is placed on skill development, participation, sportsmanship, and most of all, kids having fun! Activities are designed for pure enjoyment and skill development. At the Worcester County Department of Recreation & Parks emphasis is placed on participation and positive sportsmanship.

Youth Soccer is offered during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. In both our outdoor and indoor leagues, girls and boys of all skill levels are invited to take part in this popular sport. Teams from each town will be formed.

Youth Basketball is offered ruing the fall and winter seasons. In both our Instructional program and Youth League, girls and boys of all skill levels are invited to participate.

Our Youth Field Hockey Programs will introduce participants to the sport of field hockey. Basic skills and fundamentals will be introduced through station exercises, fun games, and drills. Participants will be learn to apply their skills to small sided scrimmage games.

This program is designed for toddlers to develop friendships, self esteem and curiousity in a safe nurturing environment.  Toddler Gym will give you and your child the opportunity to have fun together and to form lifelong friendships.

Little All-Stars is a great way for your child to become active while learning the key elements of a variety of sports and activities.  Each class will focus on the fundamental movement skills of each sport, including soccer, t-ball, basketball, volleyball, and more.  This program will introduce and encourage your child in skill development and team work while enhancing self confidence and social interaction.

Our Active Start Youth Sport Development Programs are for children of all skill levels. These sport-specific programs prepare children for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment by teaching the fundamentals of play while encouraging an appreciation for being physically fit and healthy.

This program is great for homeschool children of all skill and fitness levels to have fun and keep their bodies moving. Children will enjoy fitness is a variety of recreation activities and build confidence in a structured, non-competitive environment while socializing with peers. 

No School? No Problem! Drop off the kids for a fun day activities at the Worcester Recreation Center. 

Enjoy a night out while your children enjoy staying IN. Children will enjoy watching movies, playing games, and making a craft to take home.

Spend time getting pamered just like at a real salon! Hair stylists, makeup artists, and manicurists from Delaware Learning Institute of Cosmetology will provide beauty services. 

Designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue!

Lace up those cleats, grab some friends and join our Flag Football League. 

Hooked on Fishing is starting May 7th!

Yoga helps children manage their anxiety and improves childrens emotional regulation. Yoga boosts self-esteem and increases children's body awareness and mindfulness. 

Clinics that teach participants sports on another level! Learn technique and overall performance. 

Archery Tag combines archery with laser tag. This program will teach you how to shoot our specialized bow and arrows.
