For all youth recreational leagues and programs, emphasis is placed on skill development, participation, sportsmanship, and most of all, kids having fun! Activities are designed for pure enjoyment and skill development. At the Worcester County Department of Recreation & Parks emphasis is placed on participation and positive sportsmanship.
Spike Express Volleyball is created to provide an arena for young players to learn and practice skills needed to play the game of volleyball. Time will be allotted during each session to allow for teaching, practice and game play. Teams will be formed based on age and skill level. Beginners are welcomed.
Our Youth Field Hockey Programs will introduce participants to the sport of field hockey. Basic skills and fundamentals will be introduced through station exercises, fun games, and drills. Participants will be learn to apply their skills to small sided scrimmage games.
The After School Cheerleading program will introduce participants to cheerleading in a fun and noncompetitive manner. This will allow participants the opportunity to learn cheerleading without the pressure of having to try out for a team. There will be no "team" formed from this class. Basic tumbling and cheer skills will be taught.
After School Track offers children the opportunity to learn the basics of track and field. Children will be able to learn the proper techniques of track and field events ranging from the 55-meter dash to the high jump, while participating in sporting competition with their peers.
New! Kids Zumba classes features kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness.
Little All-Stars is a great way for your child to become active while learning the key elements of a variety of sports and activities. Each class will focus on the fundamental movement skills of each sport, including soccer, t-ball, basketball, volleyball, and more. This program will introduce and encourage your child in skill development and team work while enhancing self confidence and social interaction.
New! This High School Soccer League will give soccer players the opportunity to participate in the sport they love before the Fall Season. League play will be 11 v 11 and the season will consist of 7 weeks of league games. Get your teammates together and register a team for this fun league!
